An illegal fish fry has netted a Dryden area Tourist Camp owner $4,500 in fines.
Gordon Makara pleaded guilty for unlawfully selling fish without the authority of a licence and fined for obstructing a conservation officer.
Court heard that conservation officers checked the camp on Eagle Lake last June and found the man preparing 27-filleted walleye and 3-filleted northern pike for a fish fry lunch for lodge guests.
Makara claimed that the fish were caught by the anglers and he had the authority to possess them.
Officers discovered that some of the anglers didn’t hold a licence and others already possessed their daily limit of fish.
