Council Approves Van Horne Avenue Paving Project

Another Dryden street is getting a facelift this Summer.

Council has awarded Miller Northwest a contract to pave Van Horne Avenue from Lakeside Drive to the Government Dock.

Manager of Public Works Blake Poole says the nearly $119,000 project is fully funded by the province.

The road will be open to at least one lane during the paving and the boat launch parking lot will remain open, however it won’t be paved.

Poole notes there will be traffic control in the area.

He adds a work scheduled hasn’t been confirmed but stresses it must be completed by August 31st or small penalties will be handed down.
