Mistakes were made in the initial handling of the sensitive Fire Hall 2 issue.
That’s the concession of Dryden Council, with some admitting they slipped up and got a little ahead of their self in the announcement getting out.
Council only met once the month the topic came up for discussion on the agenda, prompting staff to pull it off the table for debate to allow for more input.
John Carlucci stresses they had no plans to move ahead without turning to the public first.
He says it’s Council’s job to listen to taxpayers and come to a decision that suits everyone’s needs.
Dryden Council stresses all options are on the table to get the City back on track financially.
Martin MacKinnon says Council is worried about the community and they need to look at everything they possibly can to turn it around.
MacKinnon notes they are headed in the right direction and doing their due diligence to ensure no stone is left unturned.
He says in the end it’s all about Dryden coming back to the position it was in years ago with strength and the ability to attract new business.
MacKinnon adds they have to sort through everything and get the public the best fire protection they can for all of Dryden.
