COVID Numbers Drop In Northwest Region

Some encouraging news on the COVID front in the Sioux Lookout area.

The Northwestern Health Unit says numbers are dropping with 95 cases now reported on reserve.

There are 5 cases off reserve in Sioux Lookout.

In total across the region, 142 cases are reported.

That’s down from 240 in the last report on Friday.

The test positivity rate is 16.5%, down from 17.8%.

In Thunder Bay, another person has died from the virus.

There have now been 84 deaths in over two years.

Across the province, hospital numbers continue to rise.

Since Sunday, there was an increase of almost 100 people that had to be hospitalized from the virus.

There are 857 people being treated in hospitals around Ontario.
