COVID Numbers Going Up

COVID numbers in the northwest are going in the wrong direction.

The Northwestern Health Unit says there are now 236 positive high risk cases, that’s up from 136 last week.

The test positivity rate is also going up.

It now stands at 12.8%, up from 11.4% last week.

Most of the new cases are in the Sioux Lookout Health Hub, which represents first nations in the far north.

Case breakdown (Health Hub):

-Sioux Lookout (on reserve): 188
-Fort Frances: 20
-Kenora: 8
-Red Lake: 5
-Sioux Lookout (off reserve): 5
-Dryden: 4
-Atikokan: 3
-Rainy River: 2
-Emo: 1
