Crackdown On Cancer Tomorrow At Dryden Walmart

Dryden’s Ritchie Noel will be firing up the grill for one final time this year to raise money for the local Oncology Unit.

The owner of Street Meat by the Weiner Wagon is hosting his third Annual “Crackdown on Cancer” fundraiser at the Walmart Store Saturday.

Noel was a guest on the CKDR Morning Show Friday and he says all proceeds from the sale of burgers and hot dogs will go towards cancer care in our community.

He says he was first inspired by a group of young girls who set up a lemonade stand a couple of years ago.

They were raising funds for the hospital in honour of their grandfather who was battling cancer as well as their father who was a cancer survivor.

Noel says in the first “Crackdown on Cancer”, he was able to raise roughly $1,300.

The second year brought in more than $2,000.

Noel says he’s hoping to surpass that figure on Saturday.

Ernie’s Fish and Chips will be joining Noel and there will also be live music.
