Crimestoppers Out With Fraud Reminders

Crimestoppers is marking Fraud Awareness Month with a couple of reminders.

The local organization wants you to know your rights so you don’t fall victim to a telephone scam or otherwise.

Constable Julie Tilbury says if it seems to good to be true, it probably is.

Tilbury says as a general rule of thumb, don’t give any personal information over the phone, unless you initiate the call.

She also advises that, should anyone come to your door, they should have the proper identification and a license with them, and it’s up to you to always ask to see those pieces of information. (File photo)
