The month of May proved to be popular for international visitors to Canada with the highest level reported since records began in 1972.
Stats Canada says 544-thousand overseas residents made trips to the country in May.
Visitor numbers were down from the U-K, China and France but visitors were up from Mexico compared to April.
Canadians made 1.1 million trips to overseas countries in May which is 6.2 percent than a year ago and a new high for the month.
On the other hand the low value of the Loonie compared to the U-S dollar likely led to fewer car trips for Canadians crossing into the United States in May.
Stats Canada is reporting Canadians made 2.5 million trips across the border in May which is the lowest level in 14 years.
Unusually wet weather in the spring may have contributed to big declines in Ontario and Quebec.
