Cross Country Runners Come Up Big In Lakehead

Local runners were impressive at the First Lakehead University Mid-Canada Cross-Country Run in Thunder Bay on the weekend.
Some 550-boys and girls in grades 4 to 8 participated in the event.
Lindsay Bowman of Red Lake posted the top local Girls mark, finishing third.
Dryden’s Martina Wintle finished the race in 8th, while Tianna Markowski crossed the finish line in 18th.
Kirk Markowski of Pinewood School placed 6th overall in the Boys Division.
Andy Husack of Red Lake came in 10th.
Eldon and Jared Vandenbrand of Riverview School finished 18th and 79th respectively.
