A request for a crossing guard at the intersection of Arthur Street
and Rourke Avenue has been unofficially turned down.
The Principal and School Council of Pinewood School made the request
due to safety concerns.
City staff say a crossing guard is not needed because of a 4-way
stop, standard sight lines and effective bus loading zones, parking
restrictions and loading zones.
The Dryden Traffic Committee hopes to meet with Pinewood staff to
increase education and awareness programs.
Council is expected to approve the measure on February 6th.
