Crown Asks That Weapons Charge Be Stayed

A weapons charge laid against a Dryden resident has been stayed in a Manitoba Court.
70-year-old Roger Nordlund was charged last December with possession of a prohibited weapon for the purpose of trafficking after he was arrested at a Brandon gun show.
At a Manitoba Provincial Court hearing in Brandon, the Crown asked that the charge be stayed, which means proceedings in his case have been suspended.
The Crown Attorney handling the case says details of the ruling can’t be released at this time, due to the nature of a related case.
71-year-old Robert McGillivray was arrested at the same gun show and faces a total of 66-charges.
He is due in Brandon Court on April 11th.
