The Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission is warning about illegal calls from people who claim they’re calling on behalf of the National Do Not Call List operator.
The originators of these calls are falsely displaying or spoofing the National Do Not Call toll-free phone number.
They’re claiming your telephone number is about to expire and must be re-registered over the phone.
The C-R-T-C says there’s no need to re-register telephone numbers and you’re being warned not to give out any of your personal information over the phone.
