The Canadian Taxpayers Federation wants Northwestern Ontario Municipalities to get a piece of the pie when in comes to the revenue from the gas tax.
The group made a stop in Dryden yesterday as part of its “Running on Empty Campaign”.
Federal Director John Williamson says the money should be flowing to local communities.
Williamson says 42% of the pump price is taxes which local residents see little of.
He believes that Dryden would be in-line for more than $200 thousand to help fix roads and general infrastructure.
