Introduction to Exercise: Starting Your Exercise Journey

In‑person afternoon workshop series
Three sessions, 2–2.5 hours each

For anyone looking to move more confidently toward an active lifestyle, the Introduction to Exercise workshop series offers a welcoming and supportive starting point. This in‑person afternoon program runs over three sessions, each lasting between two and two‑and‑a‑half hours.

Participants can expect a balanced mix of education, group discussion, guided exercise sessions, and practical take‑home handouts. Topics include the difference between exercise and physical activity, the benefits of staying active, warming up and cooling down properly, correct breathing and form, and ways to modify movements for different abilities. The series also focuses on simple at‑home exercises that can be safely incorporated into daily life.

This workshop is designed for beginners and those returning to activity, offering practical tools to help build confidence and create sustainable habits.

  • Kaddie Vaughan is the Assistant Program Director for 89.5 the Lake, Q104, CKDR, and 93.1 the Border and the host of the Q Morning Show. They grew up in Kenora and are passionate about experiencing everything that life in Northwestern Ontario has to offer. They believe strongly in the power of sharing stories, and the emotional impact of music. You may run into them hunting down the next great bite to eat at local food spots or exploring Northwestern Ontario with their partner and their dog!
