Canadian Union of Public Employee members in the Kenora District have
voted 99% in favour of strike action to protest changes to the OMERS
pension plan.
The Union says the Province is ready to ram through a Bill that
discriminates against women, lower-paid workers and pensioners by limiting
members input on benefits.
Spokesperson Pat Daley says the next course of action will be
determined by the end of the week.
The OMERS pension plan covers municipal workers, school boards
and children’s aid workers.
