A long time northwestern Ontario television station is shutting down.
Shaw TV has announced the end of CJBN in Kenora effective January 27th.
Greg O’Brien who reports on CRTC matters across Canada says Shaw Communications sold all of its TV business to Corus last year, suggesting the end to its lone station in Kenora.
O’Brien adds the upgrades to keep the station running outweigh the money Shaw would make.
He notes a couple of shows will be transferred to the community access station.
