A major organization in Canada says we are consuming too much sugar especially in drinks.
The Heart and Stroke Foundation says more than 13% of our total calorie intake is coming from added sugars.
Spokesperson Christine LeGrand says one can of pop puts you over the daily recommended amount of added sugar.
The Foundation recommends we limit our intake of added sugars to less than 5% of total calorie intake per day.
Sweetened beverages are the biggest contributors of sugar in a persons diet.
Excess sugar consumption is linked to heart disease, stroke and obesity.
