One month after Dryden made a splash in the Canadian media for its Olympic Torch Relay celebration, another Dryden resident has been featured in a National publication.
21-year-old Darren Miller was profiled in the February 16th edition of the Ottawa Citizen Newspaper.
The article talked about Miller’s work fighting fires with the Ministry of Natural Resources, his family ties to the profession and his time with the Ottawa Gee Gee’s University Hockey team.
The story also highlights the extreme challenges firefighters face in Northern Ontario.
Miller was a stand-put player with the Dryden Eagles and Ice Dogs.
He’s currently studying social science at the University of Ottawa.
