A special treat for young players at the Lil Bands Youth Hockey Tournament.
Minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation David Zimmer stopped in Dryden Thursday to drop the puck at a Midget game.
Zimmer says this event is a big opportunity for First Nations youth, stressing organized sports teaches the value of developing a skill and practicing to do things right.
He adds this is a very important tournament in terms of reconciliation, noting once the skates are on, everyone is equal on the ice.
Zimmer also met with officials from Dryden, Eagle Lake and Deer Lake.
He says he will take all messages back to Premier Kathleen Wynne, noting all advice is helping move their agenda to a good place.
