The price of a snowmobile permit goes up to $250 at the end of the day Thursday.
Craig Nicholson is with the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs and says the trail permit allows local volunteers to maintain the trails.
The permit is also required under Ontario law.
Nicholson stresses snowmobiling is one of the biggest economic generators in Northern Ontario.
He notes all indications point to a prosperous season for riders.
