The Chair of the Kenora District Services Board admits Councils may
have to accept a 2.8% increase to the Municipal levy.
The 2006 financial statement was rejected last week as some Council’s
requested a zero-based budget with no hikes.
Brian Larson says that may not be possible because of issues beyond
their control, including land ambulance services.
The KDSB Finance Committee and Municipal Councils are taking another
look at the budget in hopes of reaching a compromise by the end of the week.
