The Sioux Lookout Fire Department says no one was injured following a large fire at Knobbys Restaurant just before 8 o’clock Tuesday morning.
Fire Chief Rob Favot says the blaze started on the outside north wall along the stairwell and quickly spread up to the roof.
A cook, waitress and two patrons managed to escape unharmed.
The fire destroyed the roof and everything inside the build.
Favot says the cause is under investigation.
He notes fire inspectors are on scene and they are waiting to hear from the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office.
This is the second major fire to a popular Sioux Lookout eatery in under a month.
Dick and Nellie’s remains closed due to required repairs and upgrades.
