A successful community partnership between the Dryden Police Service and Dryden High School.
Chief Rob Davis says they were looking to make repairs to their administration van, which was old and outdated.
They contacted Mr. Fenez’s class to see if they would be able to make repairs and repaint it, if the Dryden Police paid for the materials.
Davis says to get it done professionally, they were looking between $2,000-$7,000.
Now the renovations have been completed, and the van looks practically brand new.
As a token of appreciation, the Police Service presented DHS with a cheque for $500.
Davis says the vehicle is used on a daily basis, and this will save them having to lease a separate vehicle for the administration duties, such as court, board meetings, etc.
Davis adds the Dryden Police is in the process of right sizing their fleet, and the van will last them at least another 2-years.
