DHS Track And Field Team Impressive On Day #1 At NWOSSA

Dryden Eagles Track and Field coach Mike Wood promised a huge medal haul and so far his team has delivered at the NWOSSA High School Championship in Thunder Bay.

On day one Tuesday, five athletes secured their trip to the All-Ontario Championship with gold medal performances.

Arielle Penner and Brennan Walters finished first in the 100-metre dash.

Jacob Benson and Corrin Kuzemchuk both won gold in the Steeplechase event

Alexandra Cooper was number one in shot put.

Mike Braun, Sarah Urquhart, Ally Wisneski and Taylor McLarty still have a shot at OFSAA as they all finished with silver medals.

A number of bronze medals were also secured.

The northern finals wrap up Wednesday.
