Healthy eating was the focus of a weekend Diabetes symposium in Dryden.
This was the first event of its kind in the community.
Folks were able to sample sugarless food and learn more about diabetes prevention.
Spokesperson Mervin Brownlee says he would have liked to have seen more people out, but says it was still a good day.
Brownlee says it’s important for people with diabetes to have some kind of support system.
Brownlee, who lives with Type 2 diabetes, stresses the importance of eating foods with little or no sugar and using sweetner instead.
