A deal between the province and elementary catholic teachers is getting a luke-warm response from the Director of the Northwest District Catholic School Board.
Mary-Catherine Kelly says their union wasn’t even consulted on the final contract.
Kelly says this, despite the fact that the union was at the bargaining table for five very intense months.
Kelly notes they are now moving forward in a position that they maybe didn’t want to at the start but notes she has to see more details of the contract.
On the plus side, she says it will allow for a smooth transition to the new school year.
The two year deal reached last week comes with no salary increase.
