The federal government’s move to buy the Trans Mountain pipeline project in Western Canada isn’t getting the love from the Conservatives.
Leader Andrew Scheer suggests the Liberal’s decision to spend $4.5 billion on the move was premature.
He accuses Prime Minister Trudeau of trying to buy his way out of a problem, noting that Kinder Morgan wasn’t asking for money, but a certainty in moving the project forward.
The Conservative leader believes the pipeline can be built without imposing a risk to the taxpayer.
Meantime, NDP leader Jagmeet Singh believes the money being spent doesn’t justify the 2,500 jobs promised.
Also, our recent on-line news poll question asked if you agree with the Trudeau government’s decision to buy the pipeline…. 53% said no.
