“Focusing on the Future”.
That’s the theme of the three day Northwestern Ontario Conference on Disaster Management being held at the Dryden Centre this week.
Committee Co-Chair Malcolm Robertson says the gathering has attracted some great speakers from across the country.
Those scheduled to speak include reps from the Elliot Lake Mall collapse as well as the Lac Megantic train derailment.
Robertson says delegates will learn more about what happens after a disaster or emergency event as well as planning for the future.
The conference begins Tuesday afternoon.
The event is being hosted by the Canadian Red Cross, Ministry of Natural Resources and the City.
