Dispatch Service Changes Still Pending

There is still no word on when emergency dispatch services in the Dryden area will be transferred to the Owen Sound Police.
Dryden Police are still waiting for Ontario Civilian Police Commission approval.
Councillor Shayne MacKinnon is a former Chief of Police and he says it’s sad that this may be the final year of local dispatch service.
The move will result in the loss of 9-full time and 4-part time positions.
The Dryden Fire Service has requested for the service to continue until the end of March to allow for a transition to its new provider.
