Dispatch Switch On Schedule For Dryden Fire

Things are running smoothly for the Dryden Fire Service and its move to a new dispatch provider.
The Fire Service is moving to the Kenora Ambulance Centre after Dryden Police announced last year that they were eliminating dispatch service.
Fire Chief Ken Kurz says new equipment is being installed this week and testing will start next week.
Kurz anticipates the move will be completed before the end of March.
He says the move will mean all emergency service providers will be on the same radio network and it will allow for greater communication.
Kurz notes Machin, Oxdrift, Wabigoon and Ignace have already made the move to the Kenora-based fire dispatch provider.
Other communities have gone to the North Bay OPP Centre.
