The Dryden Hospital has been asked to play a leading role in the prevention of disease and the promotion of health.
Dryden doctor Karen Mazursky has approached the hospital board about establishing programs focused around health issues such as the harmful effects of cigarette smoke, alcoholism and accidental death.
Mazursky says the hospital could work with patients who have been admitted to hospital.
She says many people tend to reevaluate their habits and start thinking differently during this time.
