Domtar Announcement

The Domtar Mill in Dryden has received $22.7-million dollars in Federal funding to install a new turbine.
Prime Minister Stephan Harper made the announcement Saturday.
The project is entirely funded by Canada’s Pulp and Paper Green Transformation program.
Detailed design of the turbine is underway and installation is expected to take place early next year.
The project is expected to boost electrical production by 128,000-megawatt hours per year.
That will nearly balance the mill’s production and consumption of electricity.
Harper says a greener pulp plant is more attractive to buyers who are looking for environmentally-friendly products.
