Domtar On M-PAC Ruling

Domtar officials say a Municipal Property Assessment Corporation ruling reflects downsizing at the Dryden Mill between 2008 and 2012.
The Dryden Mill’s assessment dropped dramatically from $51-million to $14-million.
Company Spokesperson Bonny Skene says the ruling will help them compete.
Skene says the reassessment was triggered by the closure of the paper making and converter operation.
Skene says the ruling is based on hearings, reviews and deliberations over a 2-year period.
She stresses the company recognizes the impact of the decision but notes Domtar will continue remain focused on producing pulp safely, reliably and cost effectively.
