Domtar Releases Quarter 2 Results

Domtar is out with its Quarter 2 report.

The company is reporting net earnings of $43-million and total sales of $1.4-billion.

Net earnings in the first quarter of 2018 were $54-million.

President and Chief Executive Officer John Williams says they had a solid performance in pulp and paper and that helped offset higher maintenance and freight costs as well as inflation.

Williams is predicting strong times ahead thanks to lower planned maintenance costs and price increases in paper.
