Domtar has unveiled a Historical Display in recognition of the City of Dryden’s Centennial Celebrations.
A special ceremony was held Wednesday at the main gate.
The first industrial activity at the Mill site was back in 1908 when Grant and Charles Gordon built a small sawmill.
A fire destroyed the partially built mill in 1909 and the Dryden Timber and Power Company acquired the side in 1911.
The operation was the first kraft pulp mill in Northwestern Ontario.
Domtar took over operation of the Mill in 2007.
It currently employs roughly 330-people.
