Don’t Feed Wild Animals

The Ministry of Natural Resources wants to remind the public to not feed wildlife.
Animals can become dependent on human food, which can affect their natural habitat.
Communications Specialist Kathryn Lyzun has some tips to keep everyone and everything safe.
– appreciate wildlife from a distance
– keep household waste, compost, garbage and pet food out of reach from wild animals
– don’t put garbage out until the morning of the collection day
– don’t put out food to attract wildlife
Lyzun adds that feeding animals near roads increases the opportunity of them being hit by a passing vehicle.
