Don’t forget your ID at the border

Make sure you have your picture I-D handy when you pull up to a Canada Customs window.
Canada Customs spokesperson Greg Mercure notes officers have been given a new directive at the three border crossings in Northwestern Ontario.
Mercure notes officers may especially ask for identification from area residents who may not cross the border very often.
In some instances, residents may be turned away until proper I-D can be provided.
U-S customs officers at Minnesota ports of entry and elsewhere have been conducting a similar I-D check program for some time now.
