Don’t Leave Your Kids Waiting In A Hot Car

The Dryden Police have a reminder for parents, following an unfortunate situation in southern Ontario this past week.
A toddler died from heat exposure after being left in a car for an extended period of time.
Inspector Kevin Glenister says says even with the windows open, the temperatures inside a vehicle can heat up very, very quickly.
Instead, Glenister recommends taking your child outside the car if you are going somewhere instead of leaving them inside the car, even for 5-minutes.
While nothing like this has been reported to Dryden Police, Glenister says there have been cases where a parent has accidentally locked their keys in the car with a child still inside. Officers used their batons to smash the windows to prevent the child from getting too hot.
