Area residents are being warned of a new door-to-door scam.
A Dryden resident contacted CKDR News regarding a visit he received from someone posing as a municipal water treatment contractor.
The individual claimed that there was chlorine and pharmaceuticals in the water system and offers a free test.
Obviously the water test comes up positive for contaminants and the contractor offers to install a filtration system to the tune of $2,000-$3,000.
The contractor stated that they would be headed to Kenora next.
Municipal water and health officials would tell you if your water wasn’t safe to drink.
