In loving Memory of Dorothy Crigger (nee Griffiths), age 85 of Dryden, who passed away on Sunday February 23, 2003 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre. Dorothy moved to Oxdrift as a young girl and lived there until 1936 when she married Ivan and they moved to Minnitaki and later moved into a new home a little closer to the highway but still on Minnitaki road north. After helping to pioneer this new farm and with her part building fishponds, gardens, and flower beds it was time to retire and move to outlet bay on Eagle Lake where they still worked as a team and started all over again making more gardens and flower beds and meeting many new friends. Wanting to be closer to town they purchased another home on Whyte Avenue and lived there until she moved into Patricia Gardens in August 1999. Her hobbies included fall fair entrees, sno-mobiling, cross country skiing, sewing, quilting, tatting and playing euchre and skip-bo. She was one of the first rural area school bus drivers and worked at Fotheringhams country store. She accompanied Ivan on the violin with her piano music so they could have dances in country halls, mostly in Eton Rugby. She loved to cook and entertain and was always watching for her family to come to visit. She belonged to the Women’s Institute for some time and played piano in church on Sundays in her early years. Dorothy is survived by her son Reginald (Yvonne) Crigger, grand daughter Cathleen (Michael) Langlais and grandson Kevin Crigger. Great grandchildren Chelsea Pateman, Mitchel Pateman and their father Michael, Blaire Langlais, Kyle Langlais, Adam Langlais. Sister in law Norma Lyle (nee Griffiths), niece Georgina Richardson, nephews Gordon (Lynda) Griffiths, Doug (Trudy) Griffiths, Joe (Connie) Ruete, Ardell (Rose) Lewis and Ken (Margaret) Crigger. Visitation for the late Dorothy Crigger will be held on Tuesday February 25th, 2003 from 4-8 p.m. at the Dryden Community Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday February 26, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Wurch officiating. Cremation to follow. Interment of ashes at a later date at the Minnitaki Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to St. Luke’s Anglican Church for the upkeep of the Holy Trinity Church in Minnitaki through the Dryden Community Funeral Home, 249 Grand Trunk Ave., Dryden, ON P8N 2X3
