Double Jeopardy For Confederation College Student

There is no double jeopardy for former Confederation College Student Adam Leon. It means he must face a theft charge in connection with an incident in April 2009 when a Cessna was taken from the College’s flight school in Thunder Bay and flown into the United States. However, his lawyer Neil McCartney believes it is possible Leon may not spend anymore time in jail even if he is convicted of theft.
He thinks it’s possible that a judge may look at the time Leon served in the United States and consider that with regards to his sentence in Canada.
Leon spent two years in jail in the States in connection with the case.
