Doug Ford Introduces Buck A Beer In Time For Labour Day

The Progressive Conservative government is allowing brewers to sell their beer for a dollar starting August 27th.

Doug Ford made the announcement Tuesday morning, saying they are over turning a decision from 2008 that banned buck a beer.

Beer that has an alcohol volume below 5.6% is eligible under the program. Ford says any brewer who agrees to lower their prices will receive promotional considerations, including in-store displays, discounts and advertising in flyers and newspaper inserts.

He says the days of the government putting their hands in your pocket each time you go to buy a 24 or 6 pack are over.

Ford says there will be no subsidies or tax handout’s and the program is completely voluntary.

The price does not include a bottle deposit and does not apply to draft beer. (Photo: @fordnation)
