Doug Ford To Meet With Maritime Premiers About Healthcare

Ontario’s premier will travel to Atlantic Canada on Sunday to talk about healthcare.

Doug Ford will meet with the premiers of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, as well as Intergovernmental Affairs Minister Dominic LeBlanc.

According to a news release from Ford’s office, discussions will focus on health care pressures facing provinces across the country and the urgent need for the federal government to be part of the solution.

It states, “This includes the federal government being a true funding partner in delivering on our plan to rebuild and repair Ontario’s health care system, as well as dramatically increasing the number of skilled immigrants, including qualified health care workers, that can come work in Ontario.”

A meeting is planned with Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston on Sunday in Halifax.

Ford’s itinerary then shows a bilateral meeting with LeBlanc, followed by one with New Brunswick’s Premier Blaine Higgs, both to be held in Moncton on Monday, August 22.

A summit including all four premiers will follow.
