Doug Lawrance Reacts To Sioux Lookout Election Win

Doug Lawrance has been handed a second term as Mayor by voters in Sioux Lookout.

Lawrance narrowly defeated former Mayor Dennis Leney and Jason Bailey in voting Monday.

He says he’s anxious to move their agenda forward.

Lawrance says he’s looking forward to working with the new Council, noting everyone in the running had the same idea, and that was the best interests of Sioux Lookout.

He says the first order of business is creating a new strategic plan and carrying on with housing projects and some industrial and energy projects.

The Council table consists of Incumbents Donald Fenelon, John Bath, Cal Southall and Joyce Timpson as well as newcomers Cory Allan Lago and Joe Cassidy.

Voter turnout in Sioux Lookout was 55.2%.
