Doug Palson Sworn In As New Chief Of Police

A new Chief of Police is officially in place in Dryden.

Doug Palson was sworn in Thursday afternoon in a Changing of Command ceremony at the Legion.

Former Chief Rob Davis was in attendance, he spent four years in the City’s top police position.

He’s now the Chief of Police in Lethbridge, Alberta.

Interim Chief Derek West was also on hand for the ceremony and was thanked for filling-in for eight months, instead of the intended three.

Palson comes to the community with 27-years of policing experience in Manitoba.

He talked about the importance of introducing new initiatives and programs as well as gaining new relationships with community members and organizations.

All three involved in the ceremony praised the police force and the community as a whole.
