A pulp plant that stood out among its northwestern Ontario counterparts for not taking any downtime is shutting down for 2-weeks just before Christmas.
Marathon Pulp announced the move less than a month after their 200 workers agreed to help the company survive by taking a pay cut and making other concessions.
The company says the shutdown will curtail production by 77,000 tonnes and allow the operation to manage inventory.
