Downtown Revitalization Update

City staff have received positive feedback on revitalization plans.
Local residents were briefed last week on the status of upgrades and
most in attendance were pleased with the long-term vision.
The Community Enhancement Team has been told to pay more attention on
improving the south entranceway from Highway 502.
This Summer, the Team is focusing on upgrades to the underpass and the intersection by 7-11, otherwise known as the ‘Gateway’.
Economic Development Officer Jim Dayman says as for long-term plans,
they are looking at the possibility of moving the Tourist Centre and Max the
Moose to Johnston Park.
Other work being considered at Johnston Park includes a suspension
bridge over the rapids and a walking trail with markers explaining the
history of Dryden.
Dayman hopes to have everything completed before the Cities Centennial Year in 2010.
