Dozing Before Driving?

Dryden Police have charged a Dryden woman in connection with theft of drugs from several area homes – after finding her sleeping in her car.

Police received a call from the Dryden Safeway store concerning a customer’s inability to drive. They found 48 year old Sandra Melanson asleep in her car behind the wheel.. She was charged with care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, also with ilegal possession of a narcotic after police allegedly found morphine in her possession.

Melanson has also been identified as responsible for ten counts of Break and Enter with intent to commit an indictable offence, stemming from occurances of a woman gaining access to homes by asking to use the bathroom and prescription medicine going missing. She’s been released on numerous conditions and will appear in court April 18.
