Here are a few of the things happening at our area High Schools:
Dryden High School

The Drama Club is in high gear this afternoon (Monday, April 20th) with a major rehearsal from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM as they prep for their spring production.
Academic Testing: Tomorrow, Tuesday the 21st, Grade 10 students will be undergoing PSAT testing.
For students looking for a positive start to their Tuesday, the “Weekly Encouragement” group meets in the library tomorrow morning.
Sioux North High School

The school’s popular daily after-school program continues this week from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM. It’s a hub for students to stay active and grab a bite before heading home. The rotation for this week includes:
Monday: Volleyball
Tuesday: Soccer
Wednesday: Badminton
Thursday: Basketball
Friday: Open Gym
Fuel Up: Healthy snacks are provided daily by Fresh Market Foods.
As we are past the mid-point of the semester, many senior students are finalizing their OSAP applications and post-secondary acceptances this week. The guidance office is holding drop-in sessions for Grade 12 students to ensure all documentation is ready for the fall.
Red Lake District High School

Many students participate in Red Lake Indian Friendship Centre events after school. This Thursday, April 23, is the Spring Feast Pig Roast, which is always a major draw for the Red Lake community and highschool students.
Pelican Falls First Nations High School

Cultural Week Activities: Pelican Falls is focusing on land-based learning this week. Students are participating in spring traditional activities, including preparation for upcoming community feasts and outdoor skills workshops.
April is officially recognized as Ribbon Skirt Month at Pelican Falls. Expect to see students and staff wearing traditional skirts to celebrate Indigenous identity and pride.
The school has events planned for Earth Day (April 22), focusing on land-based learning and environmental stewardship.
Ignace School

Do you have a secret skill that’s ready for the big stage? From soulful singers and high-energy dancers to stand-up comics and viral-worthy stunts- Falcons Got Talent is the perfect opportunity to show these talents off. Open to grades 9-12. Sign up by Wednesday, April 22nd. The talent show will be held on Wednesday, April 29th.

Just a reminder for students—next Monday, April 27, is a scheduled PA Day, so this is a “full” 5-day week of classes before the long weekend.
