The first significant milestone for the Dryden Recreation Extension and Modification Committee.
Spokesperson Marnie Oliphant says they’ve reached their stage one goal in raising funds for upgrades to the aging Memorial Arena.
She stresses they have hit the $50,000 mark and Boreal Signs has updated the fundraising thermometer at the Arena.
Oliphant is thanking the entire community for their support to date.
The ultimate goal is $500,000.
The Committee has also secured a federal grant to improve the corridor between both rinks as well as make the washrooms more accessible.
